Sinopsis The Lord of the Rings (2001) di Bioskop Trans TV Malam Ini

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring digarap oleh Peter Jackson berdasarkan novel The Fellowship of the Ring. Novel tersebut merupakan buku pertama dari kisah The Lord of the Rings karya J.R.R Tolkien.

Film ini menggunakan banyak pemain, sebut saja Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett, John Rhys-Davies, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Sean Bean, Ian Holm, dan Andy Serkis.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring pertama kali dirilis pada 10 Desember 2001 di Odeon Leicester Square, London, dan diedarkan serentak pada 19 Desember 2001.

The Lord of the Rings pertama ini mendapatkan banyak pujian dan kesuksesan secara box office. Film berbujet US$93 juta tersebut berhasil mengumpulkan box office hingga US$897,7 juta.

Film ini pun mendapatkan banyak penghargaan dan dianggap sebagai salah satu film terbesar serta paling berpengaruh dalam sejarah.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring tercatat mendapatkan 13 nominasi Academy Awards ke-74, termasuk Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor.

Namun film ini 'hanya' memenangkan empat piala Oscar, yaitu Best Cinematography, Best Makeup, Best Original Score, dan Best Visual Effects.

Pada 2021, atau 20 tahun setelah film ini dirilis, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring terpilih masuk dalam National Film Registry milik Perpustakaan Kongres AS karena dianggap berpengaruh pada "budaya, sejarah, dan estetika secara signifikan."
