Melonjaknya kasus gagal ginjal akut yang menyerang ratusan anak beberapa waktu lalu sempat membuat obat sirup cair dilarang beredar. Terbaru, kini daftar obat sirup aman BPOM telah dirilis.

Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) telah memperbarui daftar obat sediaan cair atau sirup di Indonesia yang dinyatakan aman atau bebas dari bahan baku pelarut Propilen Glikol (PG) serta produk obat jadi yang mengandung Etilen Glikol (EG) dan Dietilen Glikol (DEG) yang melebihi ambang batas.

Terkini terdapat 508 obat sirup yang aman.

"Hasil verifikasi periode 15 hingga 27 Desember 2022, terdapat tambahan 176 produk yang telah memenuhi ketentuan. Dengan demikian, BPOM menyatakan 508 produk sirup obat dari 49 Industri Farmasi telah memenuhi ketentuan, dan aman digunakan sepanjang sesuai aturan pakai," tulis BPOM dikutip dari situs resminya.

BPOM memastikan akan terus melakukan verifikasi hasil pengujian bahan baku terhadap produk sirup obat lainnya, serta informasi yang diperlukan untuk pemastian mutu, keamanan dan khasiat obat.

Verifikasi telah dilakukan berdasarkan pemenuhan beberapa kriteria, antara lain kualifikasi pemasok, pengujian bahan baku setiap kedatangan dan setiap wadah, serta metode pengujian yang mengikuti standar atau Farmakope terkini.

"BPOM akan terus memperbarui informasi terkait hasil pengawasan terhadap sirup obat. Informasi akan disampaikan secara bertahap dengan mengedepankan prinsip kehati-hatian dan didasarkan pada database registrasi produk di BPOM serta verifikasi hasil pengujian bahan baku dan produk sirup obat," lanjut keterangan dari situsnya.
