Transformers, Film Terlaris Sepanjang 2014

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- Serial ke-empat Transformers, Age of Extinction, menjadi film terlaris sepanjang 2014 mengalahkan The Guardian of Galaxy. Film garapan Michael Bay tersebut mendulang pendapatan kotor sebesar lebih dari US$ 1 miliar atau setara Rp 12,4 triliun seantero dunia.

Age of Extinction sukses panen di pasar Tiongkok dan Hong Kong dengan meraup lebih dari US$ 300 juta atau hampir Rp 4 triliun dan mengalahkan film Avatar yang sebelumnya memegang rekor di Negeri Tirai Bambu.

Sebelumnya, rekor pendapatan lebih dari satu miliar dolar pernah dicapai oleh The Dark of the Moon yang meraih lebih dari US$ 1,1 miliar, nyaris mencapai Rp 14 triliun.

Di tempat lain, selama 2014, film-film yang mendulang kesuskesan diraih oleh Maleficent, X-Man: Days of Future Past, Captain America: Winter Soldier. Film-film tersebut meraih lima teratas mengambil alih The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Dawn of The Planet of the Apes, The Hungergames: Mockingjay Part 1.
